Midcentury Brandon Range Chest of Drawers in Oak by G-Plan c.1965

A British oak storage chest from G Plan’s Brandon collection, dating from the 1950s. The tall rectangular case contains five full-width drawers graduated in depth, with the two shallower upper drawers subtly recessed behind the rounded front edges of the frame. Each drawer is fitted with a pair of sculpted wooden handles, their angular, raised form providing a distinctive detail against the restrained oak fronts. The warm, evenly figured veneers are complemented by darker timber edging and a broad recessed plinth base.
