Model 204 Lounge Suite, Sofa & Two Armchairs, in Beech by Ercol c.1965, Newly Reupholstered in Bouclé
A British midcentury three-piece seating group by Ercol, circa 1965, comprising a two-seat settee and pair of matching armchairs. Crafted in pale beech, each piece is defined by Ercol’s distinctive steam-bent hoop back, closely set spindle supports and gently curved armrests, creating an open, lightweight silhouette despite the generous proportions. The frames are raised on tapered splayed legs joined by slender stretchers, with traditional wedged and pinned construction visible throughout. Newly upholstered seat cushions in a soft cream bouclé provide a tactile contrast to the warm honey-toned timber while retaining the clean, pared-back character of the original design.
