Midcentury French Walnut Dressing Table/Chest of Drawers by A Younger c.1965

A 1960s dressing table or low floating chest of drawers by A Younger, combining richly figured golden timber drawer fronts with a darker teak case and slender architectural base. The long, low cabinet is arranged with six drawers in two rows, each fitted with a small tapered metal knob. Dovetail joints are visible at the drawer sides, while the raised edge around the top provides a neatly defined surface for cosmetics, jewellery and personal accessories. The warm, rippled figuring across the fronts gives the piece a strong material presence without interrupting its restrained rectilinear form.
