Pair of Midcentury Model 204 Beech Armchairs by Ercol c.1965, Newly Reupholstered in Bouclé
A pair of British midcentury armchairs by Ercol, circa 1965, crafted in pale beech and defined by the manufacturer’s distinctive steam-bent hoop backs and closely set spindle supports. The gently curved armrests extend from slender uprights, while the frames are raised on tapered splayed legs joined by fine stretchers. Traditional wedged and pinned construction reflects Ercol’s characteristic approach to solid timber furniture, with the sculpted beech developing a warm honey tone that complements the light, open structure. Newly upholstered seat cushions in soft cream bouclé introduce a tactile contrast while retaining the restrained character of the original design.
